Well blue, the Stones won't last forever... and when this black man is no longer worried about losing his job, then we will get his truth. I think we already know the truth. There is a pattern here, and it's one of pettiness, not racism. I'm not sure what the Queen has to do with any of this Aloebird, but FWIW, Keith is pissed at Mick for that, too. Maybe he's just jealous... Since this is a video thread, let's hear it for Howlin' Wolf! See the deference with which the young Rolling Stones tread one of their blues heroes...

It is my understanding Dave Navarro was not included in the Red Hot Chili Peppers Hall of Fame induction because the Chili Peppers said he will get inducted for his band Jane's Addiction.
For as long as Daryl Jones has been in the Rolling Stones I never heard of him. Sorry, I don’t keep up on the Stones or pay attention to them. That is interesting that he is not in any photos. Come to think about it I do recall only seeing four Stones in photos since Billy Wyman left the band. When they toured I always thought they hired someone to play bass just for the tour.
A long time ago I read a biography about Brian Jones. I remember reading about his contributions to the Rolling Stones. Blue Monday, from what I read Jones was person who created the Stones and was their leader in the beginning. It is truly a shame how he had his band taken from him and his role erased.

You know, there is nothing wrong with Southern rocker wannabes- especially if they can produce some decent music without giving "Southern rock" a bad name... and that is what this post is all about- some wannabes from the west coast claiming they play Southern rock- and they are not even from the South. Go figure. But, I did enjoy this first tune of theirs I just listened to... The Cripple Creek Band... www.thecripplecreekband.com/ABOUT US The Cripple Creek Band brings a unique blend of country music and southern rock. Along with their original material they cover a wide range of music from all different eras, their foot stomping, rockin' country sound will leave you wanting more. Influenced by artists including, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Waylon Jennings, Alabama, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Blackberry Smoke, Travis Tritt, Eric Church, Merle Haggard, and "The Band," the Cripple Creek Band plays great music appealing to every person in the audience. The band members are Neal Morgan on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Steven Anderson on lead guitar, Steven Mendiola on bass/vocals, Perry Clark on Piano/Guitar/Vocals Eric Anderson on Fiddle and Travis Simas on drums/vocals.

Here is what "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys sounds like without instruments. Brian Wilson is a master when it comes to arranging songs. This man has a hearing loss. During childhood he lost most of his hearing in his right ear.

A little punk rock anyone? The Clash had some pretty good songs. Originally I wanted to post two vids, but I can't find the other song I was looking for. Doesn't seem to be on You Tube. I thought everything was on You Tube...

Here is a some Pink Floyd. For several reasons I find this to be a fitting video for the end of the work week.

"Money" is probably their best-known song. Here's a more obscure one, from the album "Meddle", although this is the version from the "Live at Pompeii" film. The visual focus is on drummer Nick Mason. Watch what happens to him at 4:43, and what he does. Pretty cool! If you think that "One of These Days I'm Going to Cut You Into Little Pieces" is a weird title, well, this is the band that also gave us a song called "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cage and Grooving with a Pict". I won't make you sit through a video of this because it is an unlistenable experimental piece of the "Revolution 9" variety. Instead, I give you this early PF song, from the Syd Barrett era. I remember seeing an actual video for this, but I can't find it now. Maybe it was just something put together by someone because this song was unreleased for the longest time. I guess it can now be found on an anthology of some sort. It is psychedelic-sounding, so get your old tie-dyed t-shirts out and put some flowers in your hair

About two weeks ago "Should I Stay or Should I Go" was on the radio.

Here's the full demotape that I got on Ebay for just a couple of bucks. One of a kind, four tracks only, all four of which are on both sides of the tape in order. Like me, the seller knew nothingabout the tape's history, or the band for that matter, which was apparently called SODA. Converted to mp3 and uploaded onto YouTube by yours truly through one of my three YouTube channels: Andrew Scott, heathinvadervlogs, and braveandawesome.

Billy Idol's "Nothing to Fear" from his 2014 Kings and Queens of the Underground CD. This is not like his typical 80's hits. I am not crazy about the video but love the song.

"Sail On, Sailor" was released in 1973. Brian Wilson tinkered with the track in the beginning. Carl Wilson ended up recording the finished product. At first he had Dennis Wilson sing vocals. Then Carl gave it a try. But Carl decided to feature Blondie Chaplin's vocals. Here you have a Beach Boys song with none of the Beach Boys singing lead.

So we know that Skynyrd blew the Stones away at Knebworth. It certainly wasn't one of the Stones' best performances.
In these two videos, they are on top of their game. The first is from the '72 tour. It was filmed somewhere in Texas (I can't remember where cuz I'm getting old!) and is taken from the movie "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones":
How about seeing the Stones in a small club in 1971? I so wish I could have seen that gig! The video of this performance was only recently released. The official version is a definite improvement over the quality of the bootleg copies that had been circulating for years. It's unfortunate that the cameraman was so fixated with Mick Jagger's sweaty face when Mick Taylor was soloing.

Found a band a couple of months ago called Skorned, which sounds almost exactly like Alice In Chains (never liked Alice In Chains's lyrics, but their music and vocal arrangements struck me upon having first heard them)! The original official music video is gone unfortunately, but you can still hear the song here:
