Maurice had the voice of the 3 brothers IMO. The other 2 were very good, and the attention was always on Barry's Falsetto, but Maurice was the glue, that rock solid vocal that made their group work. I am not a super fan either, never even think about them, so that's an outsiders opinion now that Cagey started our walk down Bee Gee Memory lane with his video. Personally, I don't think Barry sounds right all alone in that short video, I know his wife said he was bored but without Maurice it don't work.

I respect the Bee Gees and their music because they managed to reinvent themselves. There were two phases in their career. The music was different for each phase.
My favorite Bee Gee song is “This is Where I Came In”. I believe it was the last song released before Maurice died.

Thanks for posting that. I guess in my older age I am more open to them than I was when younger... I think when they went disco is when they went down a different road than I.

Don Felder performs an acoustic version of his song Hotel California without the azzholes in the Eagles! Now going solo he can have fun with it again!

I always liked the guys who don't run around on stage too much and don't make insane faces (R Mudlocke). Like Don and Clapton ... they just seem to let the music ooze from their fingers. Simply standing with the mic flowing, and generating a powerful stage presence.

Lately, I've been getting interested in Bob & Ziggy Marley's material.
Here's a great version of Bob's "Waiting In Vain". I dig the groove that this version lets out!
My favorite song of Ziggy's so far.

Earlier in the day, again Wembley 1991, and what a crowd. I have seen Queen at live aid and it was cool the clapping in unison, but this crowd was absolutely NUTS! EVERYBODY DANCING. It looks like a Rolling wave in the ocean. Some of our English Girls probably felt a new sensation watching Michael dance.

A November 1969 recording of a 2 year old Kurt Cobain, goofing off, singing Hey Jude by the Beatles, singing the Monkees' theme, talking to his imaginary friend "Boddah", and impersonating Smokey the Bear. It's so nice to hear Kurt being so carefree and happy, especially considering how depressed, angry, and bipolar he later became.
I know some of you here don't like Nirvana, but I've been giving them a shot lately. They definitely have some bad songs (particularly Milk It), but honestly a lot of them I really like. I like Drain You, In Bloom (Alternate Version), Heart-Shaped Box, Serve The Servants, Aneurysm, Molly's Lips, Come As You Are, and yes, Smells Like Teen Spirit. I know a lot of you would disagree with me, but personally, I don't think they're really all that bad.
After Kurt died, the drummer of Nirvana, named Dave Grohl, left the drums for guitar and started a new band that still tours today: The Foo Fighters. I haven't listened to much of their material yet, but I'll give them a chance as soon as I can too.

Steve Perry REJOINS his old bandmates in Journey on the stage at the RRHF induction ceremony and Steve Perry is allowed to speak! And what he says is amazing! It is clear why Steve Perry says he always felt and thought of himself as the outsider to the band Journey. Amazing revelations, but equally as amazing is how mature the other band members are in standing there and letting a former band member have his say after not having been in the band or around for many years. Absolutely amazing, but you can bet that all of them had an agreement behind the scenes as to what Steve Perry would say since it is all written down on a piece of paper he is holding in his hand as his script.
Neal Schon looks nervous standing by and letting Steve Perry have his say! He clinches his fist a couple of times and looks ready to pounce...
Another amazing moment for the new singer for Journey. He was a huge Journey fan living in poverty in the Philippines before being discovered on youtube by Journey band members. So for years Arnel sang the songs of Journey made famous by Steve Perry but never got to meet him until the band's induction into the RRHF...
Neal Schon didn’t get to perform with Steve Perry during Journey‘s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction last week, but he still came away with a treasured memory.
Time spent with Perry before the induction, visiting in a back-stage room at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., provided a moment of closure after so long apart. “I looked at him and said, ‘Hey man, I really miss you,'” Schon tells Rolling Stone. “There was very good eye contact. It was real. It wasn’t just things being said because of the ceremony and to keep things cool.”
Later, when he reached the stage, Schon admits he was nearly overcome. “I had a whole speech written out,” he said. “It wasn’t on the long side, but definitely from the heart,” he said. “When I walked up to the mic and Steve met me and he gave me this big hug I just couldn’t get it together to read, so I didn’t read.” Schon says that swirling emotion likely kept Perry from joining his old band during the musical portion of their induction. “Knowing everything else and how he was feeling – he was very emotional too – it’s understandable to me that he wouldn’t want to sing. It was just highly emotional,” Schon said.
Instead, Schon and fellow inductees Jonathan Cain, Steve Smith and Ross Valory performed with their singer of 10 years, Arnel Pineda. Fans may have been disappointed that a more complete reunion of their best-known lineup didn’t occur, but Schon remains happy to have reconnected with Perry on a personal level. “He was tearing up. I was definitely tearing up; I had tears running down my eyes,” Schon added. “I was trying to keep my composure on the stage for that event, but it was something that was too strong.”
As for what’s next? That’s still up in the air, but Schon sounds guardedly optimistic. “We have some talking to do,” Schon said, “but I’d love to work with him on something on the side – not necessarily Journey, something more bluesy more R&B-ish, soul.”
Tune in later this month when the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony airs on HBO. The show premieres on April 29.

An interesting video... I suppose the biggest shocker for me was the Rolling Stones- the white guys wanting some black while not wanting some black! I had no idea until now...

I don't think it has anything to do with Darryl Jones being black, and everything to do with Mick Jagger's notorious tight-fisted businessman approach. Ron Wood joined the band in 1976 AND he is Keith's buddy. Yet he wasn't made a full member until Bill Wyman's departure in 1993 "opened up a spot", so to speak.
I'm not 100% sure about this but I think that Mick Taylor, who replaced Brian Jones, never received full membership for his entire tenure with the band. He also never received writing credits for the songs he did help write. All of them bear "Jagger-Richards" credits even though Keith wasn't even present when some were written and doesn't even play on at least two of them ("Sway" and "Hide Your Love").
Speaking of Brian Jones, I thought he was going to be the band member mentioned in this segment. In the 60s, Brian was a huge star. His popularity equalled Mick Jagger's, while Keith Richards was a distant third. In the decades since his death, his former friends and band members have done their utmost to erase him from Stones history and in large part, they have succeeded. It is highly unfortunate because Brian was an inventive musician and a bold innovator. He also happened to be the driving force behind the creation of the Rolling Stones, who wouldn't have existed without his determination.
The only exception is Bill Wyman (who himself has been trashed by Keith more than once since leaving), who speaks fondly of Brian in his autobiographical book, "Stone Alone" (a must-read for all Stones fans, BTW.)

Blue I appreciate your opinion, but have to reject it based on not only this video, but other sources. This black man is not allowed to be seen. That goes beyond "business." Sorry, but the only thing that seems to explain what these white men are doing can only be explained by racism, not business. Like I said, they want his blackness for purposes of music only, and do not want his blackness for visual image aspects. That is not business, that is pure racism- the only logical explanation.

That's one source. And it does mention the shabby treatment of lilly-white Mick Taylor and Ron Wood.
Who knows what they think privately! Who knows what any artist thinks privately, unless we personally know them! But the Stones were always publicly respectful of the old black bluesmen whose music they brought to an entire new population of white listeners. I'd bet dollars to donuts that Jones is being treated as an employee and not given full membership not because of his colour but because adding a partner would mean dividing the bootie between 5 band members rather than four. That jives with other past and present similar decisions by Jagger.
It's mean and petty but it's not racist. And you can bet that the decision was Mick Jagger's alone. He treated Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor with the same pettiness in the recent 50th anniversary tour: each was given only two songs to play on. I can't remember which songs Bill played on, but he only played during the first portion of the tour, in Europe. When the tour resumed in North America, Bill told Mick to go fly a kite. Mick Taylor stuck with the tour for the duration. He played on "Midnight Rambler" (a song whose live rendition he made great in the early 70s). And he played acoustic guitar on "Satisfaction" during the encore. Or maybe he was playing "Popeye the Sailor Man"... no way to know, nobody could hear a single note coming out of that acoustic guitar. A complete waste of a magnificent talent!

Well blue, the Stones won't last forever... and when this black man is no longer worried about losing his job, then we will get his truth.
