I decided to sticky this thread, since every other photo thread on this forum is also stickied. C'mon people, let's see some photos of your favourite non-Southern musicians! Here are some early Stones, with Brian Jones... The Rolling Stones in 1963, before they even had a recording contract. Indoor and outdoor photo sessions for the 1968 album "Beggars Banquet" (the one that has the song "Sympathy for the Devil"). Brian Jones & Keith Richards in LA, 1965. I'll let you write the rest of the caption. LOL! L to R: Charlie Watts, Stones manager Andrew Oldham, Brian Jones (doesn't Allen have the same kind of guitar?), Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman. The year is 1965. Photo session for the single "Honky Tonk Women". Photo session for the 1966 greatest hits package, "High Tide And Green Grass" (I wonder if that album's name was an inspiration of the the Outlaws' "Green Grass & High Tides"...).

A few comments about the great photos Musnter posted above... This one is a promo shot for the album "Sticky Fingers" Another promo photo for the album "Sticky Fingers". 1969 US tour. This highly successful tour ended in disaster with the infamous Altamont concert, where an 18-year old member of the audience was stabbed to death by one of the Hells Angels who the band had foolishly hired to provide... security! Earlier during the day, Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane) had been knocked unconscious by one of the "security gards". I think that the Grateful Dead were scheduled to play but refused to take the stage in light of what they were seeing. This photo, however, is from an earlier concert. Tickets to see the band on the '69 tour were $5.00... Official photo for the "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow" single (1966). Another day, another controversy... Edit: How could I forget about this one? The Stones leave the court room in 1965 after facing Justice for the first time. It wouldn't be the last! Their offense? Three of them had peed against the wall of a gas station after the owner refused them access to the station's washroom (this may be laughable today, but in those days they were seen as dirty and dangerous!) Faced with this refusal, one of them (Bill Wyman?) is said to have replied, "We piss anywhere, man!" After which the threesome proceeded to relieve themselves against said wall of said gas station. IIRC, they got out of that one with a fine.

Jim Morrison... ... and The Doors! The woman in the first photo is Gloria Stavers. She was the editor of "16" magazine and, as such, was an influencial figure in the 60s. She took many photos of Jim. I don't know if they had an affair but she apparently had a crush on him. LOL! The photo with a mountain backdrop is from the photo session for the cover of the album "Waiting For The Sun". The one in front of the wall is from the photo session for the album "Morrison Hotel".

Brian Jones and Jimmy Monterey Pop Festival, 1967 (?) Yes, 1967 was the year. Brian introduced Jimi to the crowd before Jimi's set. Nankers... Cartoon Beatles; I have this as one of my computer wallpapers. Don't ask me where I found it or where it came from. The answer to both questions is, "I have no idea!"

Looks like Mohammed Ali.That's him alright, although he didn't go by that name back then. Inm those days, he still went by his given name, Calisus Clay. I too am a huge Beatles fan, and have been since I was about 2 or 3 years old. George has always been my favorite Beatle. Originally, Paul McCartney was a 3rd guitar player in the band (more like a 2nd, since George came in after Paul), and for bass guitar, John chose his school friend, Stuart "Stu" Sutcliffe, who left in 1961 to become a world-class painter. But in 1962, he died. Here are some images of the band with John, Paul, George, Stu, & Pete.

But as a bass player, by all accounts he sucked big time. There's no way he could have stayed on as bass player for the Beatles during their meteoric ascension to superstardom. Another bass player who couldn't play was this guy, who is remembered for his band's, and his own, antics...

Does this count as non-southern music? Sorry, I just couldn't help it.

The infamous Brady Bunch. The only reason I posted this was the other day while channel surfing, a local over-the-air TV station was playing one of the Brady Bunch episodes where they were singing, if you can call it that. Punishing to say the least but I thought it would make for a good laugh here.

For some reason I thought that maybe it was the Partridge Family but I couldn't locate David Cassidy on the photo. But it wasn't because I was blinded by the colours...

I remember how popular David Cassidy was and now I hear he just filed for bankruptcy. Ouch
