I never knew Rickey had so many enemies! Wow! Just as talented as any musician ever to play lead guitar, mandolin, drums, banjo, and keyboards. Not glam, just proud to be of Blackfoot ancestry, as I am of Cherokee. Just Google Blackfoot Indians, and look at the pics! All this legalese banter about Muscle Shoals, and subsequent names the band went through. Now, as for inter-band squabbles, name ONE band that has not has a clash of egos. Yes, Ed King and Artemis Pyle were probably better drummers than Rickey, but FEW, and I mean FEW people could, and can pick a guiter like my Native American brother. Where, oh where do you friggin' people get your information? None of you know what actually happened 30 some odd years ago. Maybe all that hooch you were smoking back in the 70s and 80s had a dramatic effect on your brains. Rickey is GOOD, and he knows it. He was playing at age 5. Yes, when you're THAT good, your ego tells you to be up in front. We all miss Ronnie and all the rest who have gone on to RocknRoll Heaven, but let's leave the legacy alone. They were great, they still are great, their music lives on. And please, just let the hate go. Attachments:

Your native American brother? Have you ever asked Rickey to prove his native American ancestry?
I use to hang out at show after show with the real Blackfoot band with Charlie Hargrett, Jakson Spires, and Greg T. Walker and I have heard it right straight from their own mouths- Jakson and Greg- who are REAL native Americans that Rickey Medlocke is NO Indian! They laughed at the notion and idea of Rickey having Indian ancestry and made it very clear to me and anyone who could hear them that Rickey Medlocke is lying about having Indian heritage and if his former bandmates are correct and telling the truth, then that makes Rickey Medlocke a lying fraud.
Also be aware that Rickey Medlocke and his manager Al Nalli have conspired to oust all original Blackfoot band members so Rickey could claim the name of the band for himself like he is doing today with an all new band. Have you ever heard of anyone else doing this to their own band? Screw Rickey Medlocke. What a friggin' rip off he is. An egotistical maniac who thinks it is all about him.
Anyone remember that suck ass album he put out Rickey Medlocke and Blackfoot? This shows just what kind of person this fraud really is:
I was told by original Blackfoot band members this is one of the factors that helped them take the name of Blackfoot for themselves because Rickey was stupid enough to state that the Blackfoot band was something other than himself. It clearly says Rickey Medlocke and Blackfoot which Rickey seperated himself from all because of his huge ego. It was now Rickey along with the Blackfoot band.
And everyone knows one of the reasons Rickey is cutting out the original Blackfoot band members today is because for one Rickey would have to pay them more money than he is paying his new employees, and because they sued Rickey in federal court and whipped his ass and forced Rickey to sign a settlement allowing Jakson, Charlie, and Greg to use the Blackfoot band name WITHOUT Rickey and today he is returning the favor in a most revengeful way by cutting them out completely and taking any and all income for himself.
When the Skynyrd tribute band came back together I have read where Allen wanted the band to come across as being legitimate by having as many original band members back in the band as possible to give it legitimacy as Skynyrd. Now look at Rickey and Blackfoot. He is cutting OUT all original band members and bringing in a bunch of high school kids as the new Blackfoot. Clearly Rickey does not care much for creating any form of legitimacy for his new Blackfoot band because Rickey thinks he is it and does not need anyone else.
Screw Rickey Medlocke and Al Nalli. Bunch of frauds and rip offs is how I view them today. I stand with MY brothers Jakson Spires, Charlie Hargrett and Greg T. Walker- the real deal Blackfoot band.

I would like to agree with all those that think Rickey Medlocke sucks. Completely agree as well that he is a complete fraud. Also, he has no appreciation for the talent section of the band in heaven. But, in all fairness, he does get that from his partner Gary.

Just a question since I have no internal knowledge of his REAL heritage, but as far as I know Medlocke is an indian name, and his dad ( I think Shorty Medlocke ), also a Medlocke I think had Indian heritage. Anyone know if this is true or not ?

Rickey's father was some kind of a preacher man who abandoned Rickey after birth and it was Rickey's grandparents Shorty and Nita Medlocke who raised him. Shorty was his grandfather, not his biological father.
I agree with Ghost in that I too have heard it right from Jakson's own mouth and Greg's that Rickey is not an Indian.
Why would his former Blackfoot band members tell everyone they met that Rickey was no Indian if it were not true?
I believed them, but have no proof one way or another on the subject.

Born Rickey Green. Dad was probably a Baptist Preacher man... Not Indian.

Agreed. His knowledge of Ed King's drumming ability alone would have made his contributions here amazing.
