First of all, I really like Artimus'drumming. He's not the guy who is very technical and all that and never said anything or pretended to be. Which I find very honest and down to earth. Quite frankly I never thought of him as an outstanding drummer and even not very solid or on time. On some tracks he played rather sloppy and IMO out of time and I'm only referring to live tracks, not studio stuff. After listening to this isolated track I changed my mind, this is solid as a rock. I found some others as well which I will post in the Bob Burns section. Worth a listen!

Thanks! I loved isolated tracks so you can really hear what makes up the song. You find things you would’ve otherwise missed.

You're absolutely right, lots of things gone missing. Turn it the other way round and listen to the song with isolated vocals, a completely different song!

Great stuff. I wonder if the random guy behind the Skynyrd kit plays it that way?

You can also listen the “extras” from that smell - Steve’s rhythm part that is buried in the mix.
This YouTube channel has a ton of isolated Skynyrd tracks, it’s awesome!

Tabbing out Arti's drum parts were always the biggest pain in the ass, yet the most rewarding part of the backing tracks I put together for the covers I recorded. His playing is so incredibly complex to try to listen to every hit and transcribe it down, but it makes a clear difference to the rhythm section vs using some plain-jane drum track.

This is a beautiful drum track! A wonderful feel and sound. Remember, these were the days long before click tracks. You had to make it happen with the entire band in the room playing along with you. This is a great drum track.

I’ve been listening to more drum work in songs. I enjoy Bob and Arti both.

The volume swells on Steve's parts are cool. Never noticed those before. He also had a "staccato" like attack like Allen on this.
