Amen!! I hate my phone. I hate getting on the board on my phone. Can't even post a damn picture because I don't know how, on my phone!! Not to mention video. My kids try to teach me. They say I'm still windows '95 I use my phone for everything! I’ve never had internet on my desktop. Where I live in the mountains, phone or satellite is the only option for internet. We will probably never have cable or city water here but that’s okay! RotgutLife76 , I use the mobile view to read the forum but if I want to post a picture or video, I switch to the desktop view on my phone. Just scroll to the bottom on your phone and you should see ‘Desktop’. I switch over to post and then go back to the mobile version to read. It took some getting used to but it works!

Whenever I am on my phone I switch it over to desktop. It is just easier for me to get around the forum. But I prefer using my laptop.

Caught another scene of this the other night in Nashville. Has anyone seen the "Artimus gets stand-off-ish with Ronnie", after a show scene? I guess my question is, did and could that have really happened? I've spoken with many who knew Ronnie personally, and they've told me he was the type of fellow, that would just walk up to you smiling as bright as he could smile, and just knock the taste out of your mouth. Maybe that's just how Artimus remembers it? Who knows. looking forward to watching it in its entirety.

Ronnie would not have done something like that to an ex-marine like Artimus. Ronnie would do such a thing to people he thought or knew he could push around and who would not fight back. If Ronnie had done something like that to Artimus it would have been D-Day on his ass instantly and he knew it. Ronnie had a healthy respect of Artimus and would not launch attacks on him like he would others.

Details that I’ve seen are sketchy but I heard the comment that “Artimus was the only one who could toss Ronnie around”.

If RVZ had lived, at some point he'd have said the wrong thing to the wrong person and suffered badly. Confidence is great; but overconfidence is a killer. Middleweights who can fight don't beat heavyweights that have the same skill. And he wouldn't have given a second thought to challenging a smaller guy who may have known martial arts and laid him out. Craig Reed said as much, most recently in the Odom movie...wasn't a great fighter, just dirty.

I agree with everyone. Speaking only as far as 'band history'.. I wondered if that incident or others like it, ever really happened or just Hollywood. Artimus was a Marine and I'm sure he was well trained but also I've read where Artimus said Ronnie never messed with him like other members. I can believe that. I don't think they ever hashed it out with fisticuffs? Not to candy coat it, but from what I've learned, Ronnie was the king of the sucker punch. Fought as dirty as he could. The element of surprise is a bitch. Especially when sucker punched. But considering the late 70's and early 80's I'm not sure Ronnie and his temper would have ended up well, had he lived. Telling someone your going to whip their ass, can land you in the clink these days. At least in my state it can. It's hard to deal in hypotheticals when it comes to Ronnie, hell the world could've been a better place, with just one more day with him in it. But I wonder, if like we've said, he run across the wrong one. Either someone who was heavily armed and wasn't intimidated, or whatever. A hot temper is a hell of a defense mechanism, but it can also work against you.

Telling someone your going to whip their ass, can land you in the clink these days... Truth! It’s a different world now. I’ve been out of the party scene for 20 years but I’ve seen plenty of fights back in the day. They would throw a few punches, roll around on the ground some and it was over. Then it was “Hey y’all! Let’s burn one! Who’s got a beer?” Nowadays, you’ll get cut, shot, arrested or sued! Or all of the above.

I took my kids to a Christmas parade when they were ages 4 and 6. This obnoxious drunk punk runs all into the youngest knocking him to the ground with a lawn chair, I waited a couple seconds for an apology or reaction, but didn't receive satisfactory results, so "had a come to Jesus meeting" Southern style. Before I had finished up, those boys in blue were ALL OVER ME!! "Don't you back talk the police-- cause it's his job to put you in the jail-" I was the aggressor so I made the trip downtown. The punk tried to sue me but didn't get far. In court I got loud and said I'd whip his ass again if he harmed my children. Charged again. Long story short it cost me time and money. Don't get me wrong, I'd do it again when it comes to my family. But times have definitely changed FreeBird Farm!! The law figured out there's alot of money to be made. I'd be worried about Ronnie in these times. Even back then all he had was good ol' Gene and they say he was also a hell of a street fighter. There's a saying now a days: nothing takes the fight out of a man like a sucking chest wound. Now I don't know who said that or whatever but....

In my opinion, the drunk was the aggressor when he knocked your child down! It would have been different if they had apologized and made sure your little one was okay! I didn’t know that about Gene. I’m starting his second book right now. I just finished his first book. Then I’m reading Ron’s next. I know I’m gonna read some great stories!

I'm always late to the ball!! But I've read both of Gene's books. Rumor has it that Gene's brother was a bonifide bad dude. I'm sure Gene and Ronnie learned a few things from him as well. I appreciate you saying that about the incident with my kids. That was 15 years ago, funny how time flies. But yeah it was a drunk punk who had no respect for ANYONE. but you just don't do something like that and NOT apologize or try to help. Not where I was raised. But people are rude and disrespectful. Not like when I was young. Ronnie hired Gene for security and you'll read about a few incidents, he's a tough hombre

I have to wonder who comes up with the image of this plane crashing in the movie. 1)Flames were shooting out the exhaust of the right engine, not left engine. Experts say this is normal for running too rich. 2)Left engine shown literally on fire from front of engine. Nothing close to reality. 3)Plane ran out of fuel. No fuel left to fuel flames as shown. 4)Engines went quiet. This one shows a dramatic situation not in evidence in reality. Why? As Alfred Hitchcock used to say, if people wanted to see reality, they should watch a documentary.

Well, I wonder how´s it going to be... Is it only Artimus´ side of things or what...? Sensationalism, yes.

Well, I wonder how´s it going to be... Is it only Artimus´ side of things or what...? Sensationalism, yes. It's putting images to everything he has said about the crash for the last 40 years. There shouldn't be any negative surprises. Of course it's his side. Everyone else is dead, or tried to stop it. It would be 'sensationalism' only if the filmmakers put Judy on the last flight, and everyone survived except for her.

Yes, Artimus is the only one telling his story on this, since Gary is not doing it and others are gone. Too bad they had to step in that plane, even if their instincts apparently told them not to...

Even if it would have cost her her job as a Honkette, Cassie should have vehemently told Ronnie, "I'm not getting on that ****** plane no matter what you say!", she might still be here. And Steve might still be here too if he would have stuck with Cassie and not gotten on the plane.
(I'm late catching up to this conversation so.....please forgive me)
Take Care, Tony T.
P.S. I hope that everyone is as safe as possible considering this Coronavirus shyt that's going around! My prayers are for everyone to please stay safe! Love ya'll very much!

Yeah, everyone who comes to this area loves it - they love it so much that they want to stay, unfortunately. LOL!!! Seriously, though, this is a great place to live and I've got a wonderful family around me, even though I just lost another aunt on February 12, 2020. On my late father's side of the family, that only leaves two uncles and another aunt. My Mom's side of the family is dwindling fast as well.....it's just her and her brother (again, another uncle of mine) that's left. Just in the past two years she's lost a brother and a sister-in-law to that dayum "C" word (cancer). By the way, I love your avatar of Schroeder from "The Peanuts"! I'm a huge fan of "The Peanuts" movies although, I have yet to see the most recent film.

tonytrout, I’m so sorry to hear of that many losses in such a short time. I was sure when younger that we would be much further along that we are with disease such as cancer. That’s not to say we haven’t progressed, I was just optimistic I guess. An accident like your aunt had is tough to accept also I’m sure. I adopted that avatar when I took up piano some time back just cause I thought it was cool, thanks. It’s easy to see why people fall for that area so easy, it’s an outdoor paradise. When I was there a few years back, it had a really good fly fishing shop and nice bar right there together.
