Here is David Cassidy's version. David Cassidy wanted to perform rock songs not pop songs of The Partridge Family when he was filming his TV show. That female backup singer on the left sure looked NICE! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist saying it.

Both the original version with Captain Beyond's Rod Evans and the remake with Ian are great! There's also this rockin' version of the song, though: Great Version! Never heard of this guy, thanks for that. A friend introduced me to it a couple weeks back. It was in my head for a few days after that!

Well my vote is Milli Vanilli. Cause they rock! I sense some irony in here 😁. They didn’t even sing, they were just miming. A 'big' scandal in the early nineties. I wasn’t aware of their Hush version, a dreadful piece of garbage. Could be used as a torture instrument.

I thought the exact same thing about APB/The Fenwicks the entire time I was around that band! God Steve Schub is a horrible singer and mean frontman! And that so called music is torture! How could Artimus get mixed up with a human rights violating war criminal like Steven Schub???

I remember something on that, didn’t they get caught on Sat Night Live or some show faking the song with a pre made track?

Yeah, they stopped the playback to show that the buggers can't sing. But I don't know where it was. Not my kind of music and interest, just read it somewhere. Poor in fact, but they made loads of money. Not as much as their blood sucking weasel manager (© Artimus Pyle).

As I make my way around this massive forum here are 2 of my favorites. I love both versions but some of you know that I am a huge Van Halen fan. The Kinks do a great job, But Eddie does Eddie. Eddie's tone is so original and so brilliant. Sorry to bring it up, but I wish I could of heard Allen do some Van Halen. I guarantee he would of crushed it. The Kinks "You Really Got Me"
Van Halen "You Really Got Me"

Same 2 bands different song with 1 more band. The Kinks sing a great bluesy version of "Where Have all the Good Times Gone" but the hard rock music lover in me loves the Van Halen version. Note the work of the always underated Michael Anthony.
Also a version with David Bowie which is okay, not my cup of tea.

Van Halen "Where Have all the Good Times Gone"
David Bowie "Where Have all the Good Times Gone"

Volbeat or Georgia Satellites?

For "Battleship Chains" I pick George Satellites. The Volbeat sound more like heavy metal.
Kinks for "You Really Got Me". Simple sometimes better.
"Where Have All the Good Times Gone" - I don't care for any of them.

I found something interesting. I’m listening to the Sweet for 30 years now, but didn’t know this cover. Quite good, the Beatles are tough to cover.
And the original.
