Rock, Ribs & Ridges features Betts, Pyle
VERNON -- Looking to drive festival goers toward some fun in the sun this summer, Franklin Sussex Auto Mall will be returning as presenting sponsor of the third annual Rock, Ribs & Ridges music and food festival, event organizers announced.
Rock, Ribs & Ridges is an annual, two-day celebration of great music from legendary artists, finger lickin' good food and the scenic beauty of the spectacular, natural amphitheater of the Hidden Valley Club ski resort in Vernon.
This year's festival, June 9-10, features Rock-and-Roll Hall of Famers Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers and Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Georgia Satellites and CB Radio. Betts received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 54th Grammy Awards on Feb. 11.
"We're very pleased that Franklin Sussex Auto Mall is returning for the third year in a row as we turn up the heat and bring southern rock and southern cooking back to North Jersey," said festival Executive Producer Howard Freeman of Promo 1. "The Hidden Valley Club offers a truly unique outdoor setting. The concert stage is at the bottom of the ski slope and the spacious, windowed lodge and patios overlooking the performers provide an exceptional VIP experience.
"Just as Franklin Sussex Auto Mall is the place to go for all your auto shopping needs under one roof, Rock, Ribs & Ridges is the place to go for great food and great music together in one setting," said Freeman.
"We're thrilled to provide our car-buying audience with another great experience," said Bill Snouffer, general manager of Franklin Sussex Auto Mall in Sussex, which has been named Northeast Dealer of the Year three years in a row. "We hope everyone in the area comes out to taste the excitement this summer."
Franklin Sussex Auto Mall's sponsorship includes presenting Dickey Betts & Great Southern in concert on Saturday, June 9. They also utilize the expansive grounds and hilly terrain at the Hidden Valley Club to showcase their large selection of new and used Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles and their off-road capabilities.
Festival-goers will once again have the opportunity to visit the Franklin Sussex Auto Mall showroom located at 315 Route 23 North in Sussex for a chance to win a true rock star, VIP experience: sitting front row in a topless Jeep Wrangler to watch the concerts and have a meet-and-greet with Dickey Betts.
VIP ticket holders will have the opportunity to park for free in the Franklin Sussex Auto Mall VIP parking lot closest to the festival grounds and all attendees will be able to check out the newest cars and trucks throughout the weekend.
As part of the festival's community outreach, the dealership will once again host a fundraising rib-eating contest for volunteer firefighters across the state on May 12. Among the many prizes, the winning volunteer firehouse will receive $500.
Barbecue fans will have the opportunity to enjoy mouthwatering barbecue throughout the weekend. Award-winning offerings will be served up from renowned chefs and local rib cooks, who will compete for thousands of dollars in prize money and the titles of "Best Ribs" and "Best Sauce" in a juried rib cook-off. Festival-goers also vote for a "People's Choice" award.
