I recall hearing an interview on the radio that was timed with the release of the 1991 album. The thing I found strange, after the fact, was that Arti was in the interview with Gary, Johnny and I believe Rickey, and I very distinctively remember hearing him say that he handed the sticks over to Curt Custer because after his accident and due to aging, etc. he just didn't have the "snap" any more. He went on to say, "Just listen to the album and you'll see why we picked Custer".
Now, these were his own words and for some reason that interview always stuck with me, (probably because I have LSOCD, Lynyrd Skynyrd Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder). I have always wondered how it went from an amiable, mutual parting of ways to "being booted out of the band". Can anybody shed some light on that?
