sorry cagey that i posted the same thing. i had no idea arti was playing in my hometown of hendersonville. i played in high school with johnny blackwell. johnny is one helluva guitarist and singer. that said, i went to arbys to get the wife and myself a sandwich late sat afternoon and the luck would have it johnny walks in with 4 tickets to the show in his hands we shake hands and he says did you know artimus pyles band was playing tonight at the vfw? i said i had no idea! so he hands me the 4 tickets and says if you come just donate whatever you want to at the door i said johnny i cant make it because of health problems but i would have tried to had i known about it earlier. this is my luck!! anyway johnny has invited me to come to his bands rehersal in the near future to jam with him some who knows maybe ill go! if you talk to arti cagey ask him how hendersonville is now?

Blueridge...That is too bad that you didn't get to see Arti. I know you really would have liked to. Hope your health has / is improving, hopefully you will get another chance. What are the chances he would be in Hendersonville and someone was giving you the tickets ? Take care and hope you feel better.

thanks rosscollinsgirl, thanks for the wishes, and yes the whole deal still blows me away!! i think about that alot now especially to when Johnny Blackwell and i were in a small band together in high school. the only time i was in front of a crowd and played freebird was my Senior year it was towards the end of school we had a great english teacher who put on a talent show and anyone could do it all you had to do was show up. so we all put a band together in about 3 weeks we rehearsed almost every night prior to the show. johnny had wrote a song then too it was called Odyssey of love we opened the show with it. i wanted to be like Leon Wilkeson and i was a Jr firefighter back then so i borrowed the fire chiefs dress hat and i wore it along with some really cool sunglasses we rocked the school out too! we were allowed 3 songs to play so we picked Odyssey of love by johnny Blackwell then i begged them to play 3 steps and they wouldn't so we settled on China grove by the doobie brothers then we did the all time rock and roll anthem by none other than the greatest band of all time skynyrd. we actually sounded pretty good for high school kids. at the end of our set we got huge encores it was so much the teachers had to settle the student body down!!! that was as close as i ever became to a rock star it was a day ill never ever forget!!
