A really good interview with Artimus. Calm and soft-spoken, he talks about the early days of Skynyrd, Bob, and how he came to be a part of one of the biggest bands in rock 'n roll...

It is good to see Artimus so calm, collected, and at peace! Happy even!

Cagey- do you think if you ran into Artimus today, he'd recognize you and remember you? I know you mentioned in another thread that he acted as if you were a passing acquaintance even though there was a time when you all were around each other frequently. I know he probably encounters a lot of people. Still, if I had been over to someone's house at one point, I'd be a little bummed if they barely remembered me.

He would remember me. It was only when he got back on his high horse being a big ole rock star he acted like he barely remembered me. But those days are long gone for him now and he is more down to earth.
I spent something like 17 years around him. Heck I spent more time around him than Ronnie ever did. So yeah, he would remember me.

So yeah, he would remember me. That's good to hear. From an outsider's view, he seems very likeable. I understand certain bitternesses that he has. I doubt I'd ever forgive his wife if I were him. Hope he is at peace with his place in rock history...it's a good one. I'd be very pleased if the movie (documentary) that he's involved with comes off as interesting and informative. I wouldn't begrudge him for having his say regarding Gary; just hope that negativity doesn't dominate the material presented.

I am looking forward to Artimus telling his full unedited story as well! At least one Skynyrd band member should! And he would be a good one to do it.
You know, as I was watching this I kept listening to the idiot asking the questions tell Artimus all the shows he attended that he saw Artimus at way back in the old days. I got a laugh out of it because when I was around Artimus he used to really hate it when people did that. He would make fun of them when people would say hey I saw you on such and such a day in bum fuck idaho and I was wearing the blue shirt with jeans in the 17th row 14th seat from the left side next to the lady with big boobs! Do you remember me? No you idiot! He only remembers all the big boobs! Not the stupid boobs like you! I guess I am surprised Artimus sat there with patience listening to this fellow run through his show dates like he did. Oh and fans, if you ever get the chance to meet Artimus at a show, don't ever interrupt him when he is eating! Or atomic explosion will result! Been there, seen that. Let the man eat in peace and approach afterward... like when he gets up and starts moving around then approach. And avoid asking about him remembering particular shows. He gets that way too much and it does bother him a little so hope he is in a good mood when you do it!
I just watched video again and as the idiot started asking questions he says to Artimus "my memories of you playing go way back to when I first ran into you guys just after pronounced came out with J. Geils band... Um, idiot, Artimus was not in Skynyrd at that time! Heck he probably did not even know who Skynyrd was at that time. Artimus is just graciously nodding his head not saying a word... Artimus chimes in when this idiot's memories actually do cross paths with Artimus. Normally Artimus would correct the idiots but here he is just being kind and patient.

Hi,Cagey.....I think Artimus' version of events will center on crash. Look, before I left forum before,I said I had looked I to things. All I knoww is the NTSB was confounded over fuel discrepancy. I've done the math...Artimus knows, however, will the truth ever be told? I know Odum was threatening to tell all....Let's see if Gary's knowledge\guilt is enough. Listen to Dale singing about the past being a long time ago. He doesn't seem to be able to reconcile himself, despite the money. This will be an interesting year. He should put it to bed,but , you know, someone has to pay the Gardner to water those poisonous plants outside his front door...It's the game. Faustian pact. There you go.

Hey MDfan! It's Ms. Lilly...
I just deleted what I thought was a double-post. When I came back to the page both were gone! Oops!
Would you like to repost? Sorry 'bout that.
