This show or performance is side two of one of the cassette tapes I have of this band from Artimus. During this performance you can hear Artimus say something about driving up from South Carolina to the "peninsula" where ever that is... This show is dated May 6, 1985 and is a better recording than the other show from April 1985. And, the band's performance is more listenable too! Artimus drums sound better on this performance, and the kick drum is mixed in way too loud, but hey it kicks! So take a listen to Artimus' jazzy band from South Carolina called Walking Outside! You have Artimus on drums, Tim Manning on Keyboards, and Jay Hiner on bass. www.mediafire.com/?y6bajg2vtn3pnlo

I dunno Cagey... So far I've heard about 15 minutes of it and I can't say I get this one any more than I did the first one. It's not so bad when the guy is singing (is it Arti singing?), but all this improv thing flies way over my head. It sounds like tuneless jamming to me, but the audience seems appreciative.
I have a hard time believing that Arti likes this stuff. It just doesn't connect at all with the mental image I have of him.

I think that Tim Manning is singing.
Artimus can be heard chiming in from time to time, but he is not a singer and usually stays out of it. He does however blow on his train whistle quite a bit!
But I do agree with you that this so called band sounds like mindless improv jamming with absolutely no point to it whatsoever.
I keep waiting for it to go somewhere and it just about never does.
If you think this band is bad, you should hear APB-The Fenwicks!
They suck!
I'd rather listen to Walking Outside than Fenwicks. At least listening to Walking Outside does not make me want to go postal. The Fenwicks could drive someone to murder or insanity!

Where did I read that Arti likes to sing and considers himself a decent singer? Probably some place on the internet, where somebody who knows diddley squat was trying to look like an expert. But I do agree with you that this so called band sounds like mindless improv jamming with absolutely no point to it whatsoever. I keep waiting for it to go somewhere and it just about never does. I gave up at the 24-minute mark. I think I was very brave to last this long! If you think this band is bad, you should hear APB-The Fenwicks! They suck! I'd rather listen to Walking Outside than Fenwicks. At least listening to Walking Outside does not make me want to go postal. The Fenwicks could drive someone to murder or insanity! I think the "off" button is a much better option than either one of those you suggest ;D Honestly, I don't know whether I'm hoping you will post some APB Fenwick or if I'm dreading it. Is it more jazz improv crap? Even after this stuff, I feel that I need to wash my ears out with FB.

Artimus did sing on his newest album "Artimus Venomous" but he is not a singer and does not know how to sing very well. The music of the Fenwicks is not jazz. It is psycho-ska. Check them out: www.thefenwicks.com/
