AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was sentenced Thursday in New Zealand to 8 months of home detention for threatening to kill his former employee and other charges. Rudd, 61, pleaded guilty to the charges in April after initially denying the allegations, which included asking for a former employee to be "taken care of." He later called that same employee, his former personal assistant, and told him, "I'm going to come over and kill you." Rudd was reportedly angry that his most recent album, a solo venture released last August, was a flop. The drummer faced up to seven years in prison for the charges, which also included drug possession charges, but Tauranga District Court Judge Thomas Ingram said Rudd had a limited criminal history and gave him a more lenient sentence, CNN reports.
