One of Artimus and me backstage outdoor venue, he is looking up at a radio station van Way up in the air on a crane, I guess to broadcast better? I'd never seen that before.

I play with Arty a couple of times a year. This one is from 2010. I'm on the right.

Artimus was one heck of a drummer in his time. he laid down the rhythm for that freight train sound of Allen,Gary ed or Steve and we will not forget the in time of Leon and Artimus!! lets face it folks, being tight as they were timeless tight we all know that!without those 2 they guitars were their too they were note for note when they were not! I still get shills when i hear the songs like I need you, or Cheatin woman! not only were the big-time songs like 3 steps ,Sat nite or on the hunt but the others were all tight, name me another band who was more heavy rythm than Ronnie,s band? I don,t think you can! long live the bird!!!

Zeppelin & The Who. Other than that, point made.
Artie can still play at a pro level. Any talk about him not physically able to rejoin LS is a lame excuse. I've seen and played with Artie. I've opened for the Gary "Skynyrd". Artie puts much more into a performance for $700 than Gary does for $80,000. He's an awesome drummer, even today, and a very nice person.
Another thing people don't much talk about here is that Artie is very much a healthy person. I've never seen him drink. He won't even touch a Diet Soda. He's a vegetarian. Doesn't smoke. Ex-marine. His body has been battered but he's tougher than a $3 steak. I look at what happened to Leon, Billy, Ed, and even Gary. They were all physical wrecks and much older than their years. Artie just might be the fittest 65 yr old man I know.

Artie just might be the fittest 65 yr old man I know. I think Arti has been into the "health" thing for a long time. Look at him on the OGWT or Knebworth video: his torso and arms are muscular! And he's been a vegetarian for a long time. He even credits being a vegetarian for having the stamina to go for help after the crash. But Arti is an oddity in the world of rock, as is Paul Rodgers who is also into the fitness scene and looks much younger than his years. The rock world is an actuary's nightmare, littered with people who died much too young from abusing their bodies. And since this is, after all, Arti's photo thread... here we go... [/quote]

ARTIMUS PYLE IS TO ME JUST LIKE RONNIE IN A BUNCH OF WAYS AND I REALLY FEEL LIKE THIS IS WHY HE AND RONNIE VAN-ZANT WERE SO CLOSE. THAT COMES FROM A FAN WHO HAS NEVER MET EITHER ONE OF THEM LOOKING AT THEM AS A FAN ONLY! JMO

Why isn't/hasn't he hooked up with a professional situation since the plane crash? If he has so much to offer-including a resume that includes one of the most popular bands in rock history- why has been playing bar gigs and bar-b-ques for 30 years? Don't shoot the messenger. It's a legitimate question.

I've wondered how he didnt end up with another bigger named band.He sure has the chops. This is purely a guess, but the particular controversy that surrounded his personal life could be the reason. I don't think Arti did anything wrong myself but when you have that type of disturbing allegation it is not going to make bands come running to hire you.

The controversy was 15 years after the crash.

The controversy was 15 years after the crash. but the motorcycle accident was only two years later and that was far more damaging drumming-wise than the plane crash injuries.

This is my guess any Skynyrd alumni in some band other than there own, they would upstage any one else on stage. They would do this not even trying to.Fans would yell Free Bird yell RVZ take away from the show thats going on.
