At a New Jersey venue Great White also set off pyrotechnics without permission. The two brothers had just signed papers to sell the nightclub. It was under contract when this tragedy occurred. The night of the fire a crew was filming the nightclub for a special on nightclub safety. The fire inspector never inspected the foam the brothers had installed to help absorb the club's sound.
