Jan Berry was involved in a car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury, resulting in aphasia, verbal apraxia, and partial paralysis. He had limited use of his right arm and leg.
Jan and Dean's career span from 1959 to 1966. During their music career both guys were full time college students. Jan managed to write, arrange, produce and record hits while attending medical school. At the time of the accident they had completed a TV pilot similar to that of the Monkees.
In 1978 a movie 'Deadman's Curve' came out about Jan and Dean's career as well as Jan's accident. This movie resulted in an interest in Jan and Dean's music. The guys would go out on small tours until Jan's death in 2004.

If GoGo's make it in before Grand Funk RailRoad, then RRHF is sham and a scam.

If GoGo's make it in before Grand Funk RailRoad, then RRHF is sham and a scam. I totally get why you think this. At first it bothered me that they were nominated. I posted a list of several artists who I felt made more contributes especially from the 60's that have been snubbed. But after researching the GoGo's and thinking about it I changed mind. There are very few all female bands. This band did not have a bunch big hits compared to some other bands/artists that have not gotten in. However, they wrote a great deal of their own material. And they played their own instruments. They made four studio albums and released fourteen singles. Two of those singles were top ten hits. That is a huge accomplishment for a bunch of women. It impacts the future of women in rock and roll to come. This why I am okay with the GoGo's being in the RRHF.

But there are so many from the 60-70s who should be in there too. WTF rap and crap is in there pisses me off. C’mon get these old groups in while they’re still here, especially Grand Funk, all 3 (4 if you count Craig) are still alive and touring. Only problem is whether the band would allow Mark Farmer to play and sing lol.

You have to remember that the people that run the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame don't put people/bands in based on music alone. They put them in based on how it makes them look. Whether that be accepted by a certain make up of the population or certain political allies...etc. They do the things they do because it makes them look good. They could give two sh*ts about making sure old timers get their due. Having said that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with The Go-Go's getting in. Very popular band, had hits...etc. Some just think they should have to wait til the older bands get in. The NASCAR hall of fame is the same way. So many of the old timers that helped build the sport are forgotten because they are too busy going goo goo for the popular racers from the last 20 years.

Dan, I agree with you about the amount of old timers that are not included in the hall of fame and should be included.

My vote is for The Wild Eyed Southern Boys of 38 Special, hit songs, millions of album sales, millions of concert tickets sold, chart topping hits.
Remember what Hesh said on the Sopranos, A hit is a hit.
38 put out a lot of top 40 pop rock in the 80's
