Such bullshyt. If they’d take the time to read more into those “charges” and see why he did what he did and what his children have said since then, they’d realize it wasn’t true. Like I said, this world sucks. The problem is the guilty plea. Dumb shyt lawyer was so weak that he could not get a no contest plea agreement from the ST. Johns County Prosecutor. A guilty plea makes it very hard to walk back the guilty plea. Or Duval County? The prosecutor did not offer "no contest." They were out to hang a Skynyrd. Arti simply ran out of money to keep fighting.

Of course the DA did not offer no contest. What DA would ever offer such a plea when your own lawyer is so weak he cannot scare the DA with 1 inkling of a defense. And St. Johns county was trying to act different than their roots of an ass backwards red neck hill billy ass Florida county. When I was growing up in St. Johns, after moving from Duval in 73, when I was 12 or so, St. Johns was so ass backwards. Then by the 90's St. Johns had population and huge tax revenue from the beaches. So St. Johns elects a new governing body with a full set of teeth and not drunk all the time. Now, St. Johns County was telling everyone what time it was. I pulled so much crap in that county, as a kid, and they never could get up on me. Hell, In the summer of 1980, Rossington rolled his 78 Black and Silver F-150 on the Fruit Cove turn and talked his drunk ass out of it. Said we will do a benefit concert for the cops. Then, the very next weekend, Rossington takes Leons brand new van, after a party at Allens, and rolls the van on the very same Fruit Cove turn. 2 roll over wrecks in 1 week. So here comes a child perv charge on a Skynyrd Member. I dear say, Artie wasn't the ones they wanted but the DA fried his ass and without a decent attorney to fight back, the rest is history.

Do you know what an alford plea is - a guilty plea where a person maintains their innocence but admits the prosecutions evidence would likely result in a guilty verdict if brought to trail

This was only from a very quick search of which states allow an Alford plea. I have no idea what the ramifications are related to having to register as an offender etc: Supreme Court of Florida has held that "a judgment of guilt entered upon an Alford plea is conclusive proof of guilt of the criminal offense charged". The Florida Bar v. Cohen (1991)[28]
It does sound like Arti had sh*tty representation and it sucks that he needed so much money to try to exonerate himself. Can't get beyond the Tampa writer taking a cheap shot though. He cloaks the mention of Arti's conviction under the umbrella of Pyle's resiliency. There has been enough stuff throughout Arti's life that shows he's resilient without bringing that up. He clearly had an agenda or grudge.

You also can go back and request a new trial, with semi reasonable grounds with no contest or innocent pleas. No Contest and Guilty pleas mean a word of difference. If the difference ever matters. Even Pyle's own lawyer had him scared to death. I notice Vickers was not on his legal team. Ken had a partner at the time, David Andrews, a young Attorney in Jacksonville. Mr. Andrews assisted me in a few matters of concern during my second life in Jacksonville. Bad Ass Attorney. Maybe Vickers advised Pyle to go with a St. Johns County based lawyer. That would make some sense Then again, this damn case should have been smacked down way before it got so far. Pyle's ex(Whatever) was a damn certified nut. The game plan should have been to shut her vitamins off for 24 hours and haul her into a very well planned deposition. I can only bet that the proceedings would have had a different spin on the matter.

Don't plead guilty if you are not guilty. At least go back and have a hearing to pitch the case that you pled guilty, under duress. Claim poor representation from your Attorney. But do something!!!!
