I'm still hoping that someone will share an Arti moment they particularly like. I don't know much about drumming, but I just love watching Arti live. He's such a powerful drummer!
Anyone has an Arti moment they want to share?

But Railroad Song, the rolls at the end of Cheating woman, Country boy, etc. What an AWESOME debut album from Artimus!

Music notwithstanding, I have this image when I think of Artie. Standing around backstage at the sound check talking with Gary and John Butler and Artie walks up and mingles. He has a big bundle of drumsticks in his hands, both hands full. Not interested in our conversation, he decides to go back up onto the stage. Now, this stage was high, came up to about my upper lip and I am 5'11". Artimus took two steps back and ran three steps forward and jumped up onto that stage with both feet and did not drop one drumstick. Like a frigging panther, so effortless and smooth and agile and precise. We just looked at each other with our mouths open and Gary says, "Oh he does that all the time." A lasting impression, and my favorite Artimus Pyle moment.

After doing so many Guitar Pro tabs for tracks off of Nuthin Fancy, GBMB, Street Survivors, and most of OMftR, every song Arti played on was a great moment. There is such power, precision, and FEEL in every part he played. One of the best shows of everything he's capable is the cover of Crossroads on OMftR. There isn't a single measure he repeats - in the ENTIRE song. Everything is different, the way he attacks the snare, throws in a floor tom run, or uses the double bass drum. It's astounding. A performance that Neil Peart would be proud of.

Great Artimus moment (drum roll...) When he jumped off the stage into the audience during their Asbury Park show. I love the comment RVZ said... "we let him out every once in awhile and feed him raw meat". I know it wasn't the first time Artimus jumped into the audience and I'm speculating that it wasn't his last. He jumped in drum sticks and all. A true wild-man as the story goes...

I just blasted Crossroads from OMFTR here at work (headphones of course) and I have to say Arti's drumming on that one is incredible. He literally beats the hell out of those drums. One of my favorite Arti moments.
OOOPs, I just noticed Firebird mentioned this same song. But anyway, it's awesome drum work.

If it was, I'm gonna go watch again!!! I like all of Artie's drum work (except for the occurrences where he uses the crash cymbals too much in a song). I'm listening to the end of the live version of "I Ain't the One" from OMFTR (the extended edition) and I love how he works those double-kick drums!!! Another great example of Artie's great drumming is on "The Needle & The Spoon" on OMFTR. And Allen Collins could've competed with Clapton as far as that wah-wah solo on guitar.

I love the respect that Artimus showed to Bob Burns in his last days.

When you get a minute, check out an interview Artimus did in 2015. Its over on the pure southern rock.com page. It was one of Artimus'better interviews. He is not so angry in this one. But he does tell it...

I just watched some APB videos from 1997 and I thought they weren't bad!!! Often you don't know what to expect, especially with singers and guitarists...

I've wondered if this is too small detail to mention, but... I love the way Artimus was finishing off Free Bird in 1977 shows (final crashes)! (At least he didn't do it in Knebworth '76 and Old Grey Whistle Test '75, so I'm assuming he introduced it later) He was jumping very high, right away from his sitting position It looked very cool and intense! One more on his agility skills I've created 3 GIFs capturing this, I hope these are allowed on the forum. Anaheim - 08/27/77 Day on the Green - 07/02/77 Absury Park - 07/13/77

Great post! I enjoyed that! Never really noticed before now. He would not do that now with a pin in his leg. Cool! Great job! Nice to see Artimus getting in on the finale crash!
That first one you did is great! He's hopping up and down continuously. He'd get a kick out of seeing that too!
And no detail is too small to mention! I'm a detail kind of guy too, so I appreciate this very much! And of course your GIF's are allowed! Can I borrow that first one?

I just wanted to show the exact moments instead of linking the videos So I just used the youtube source which isn't the greatest. I can find some better quality rip of Pepsi Tribute and create the GIF again if you want. Anyway I recommend everyone to see those clips with the audio, it's much more cool!
