Let's talk 80's...
Most of here are old enough to remember the decade of decadence. The big hair, mini skirts, and Glam Metal. It was the 'anything goes' era and we did just that. No apologies.
But what helped to define the 80's? Music. From the Go-Go's to Motley Crue there was no escaping it. It was at every turn and every bend. You could run but you couldn't hide. Electronic music with a large dose of screaming mixed in for good measure. It wasn't my favorite decade of music but I can't deny that it did turn out some good tunes...here and there. I spent much of my time going to concerts. After all, I was a metal girl. It was my duty.
So what where you listening to? It's time to fess up and come clean. Your amongst frynds. One of my favorites at the time...Def Leppard playing in the round.

Gawd most of the 80s were a musical desert! An overdose of synthetizers, Boy George, A Flock of Seagulls... Yuk!
I spent most of the 80s listening to my 60s and 70s albums. LOL! But I did like INXS. I was taking fitness classes at the time with a couple of girlfrynds, and the instructor used a lot of INXS music. Which is how I got into them.
Not much else I'm afraid.
I'm old enough to remember mini-skirts the first time around they were in fashion, in the 60s. I was a kid, but my very fat neighbour used to wear one.
The mini-skirt created a lot of fashion victims...............

I am surprised I was able to walk when the 90's came around.

I had to run some errands before. Turned the radio on as I was driving and this song came blasting out. Funny you mentioned A Flock Of Seagulls. This goes out to you, Ms. Blue...It's OK to click the play button.

Funny you mentioned A Flock Of Seagulls. This goes out to you, Ms. Blue...It's OK to click the play button. I did click the Play button and managed to live to tell about it. Phew! LOL, I actually hadn't heard this song since, well, the 80s. Those were the glory days of MTV and non-sensical music videos. Can someoe please tell me what this video is trying to say? Other than I should have bought Alcan stock when it was low, because they sure seem to be using a lot of aluminium foil... I was reminded of this other 80s opus. Ms Munster, this goes out to you as a thank-you gift... I hadn't heard that one since the 80s either...

The video is trying to say, well, I dunno what the video is trying to say other than don't try to play a keyboard with one finger at home kids? Can I say it's an enigma of sorts kinda like I really can't tell you know what I mean? Sounds good to me.
When MTV first came around videos, to say the least, were a bit...cheesy. They were directed on a shoe-string budget and this one was one of the better ones. I use to date a guy whose favorite band was...A Flock of Seagulls. Just the fact that he admitted that publicly was good enough reason to kick him to the curb. Imagine a rock n' roll girl like me hooked up with a Flock of Seagulls fan. Huh. What was I thinking.
I thank you Ms. Blue for the video. Much easier on the ears...and eyes.
And about that aluminum foil stock...

Totally agree, for me the 60s and 70s were still going on. 80s mainstream music was the absolute pits. There were a few albums that have stayed with me though: Bruce Springsteen-'Tunnel of Love', also 'Born in the USA', U2-'The Joshua Tree', Dire Straits-'Love over Gold', Kate Bush-'Hounds of Love'. At the end of the decade Neil Young bounced back strong with 'Freedom', and his albums in the 1st half of the 90s were very good too.

As far as music goes...
The 60's...the best. The 70's...the most fun. The 90's...my favorite. The 80's...the worst.
This, of course, is according to me. Take it for what it's worth. This thread is about music but I'm making a right turn.
My kind of girls...
Not so much...

There was some good music that came out of the 80's. Even though I am not a big fan of AC/DC there is no denying that this is a classic album. Hell's Bell's is one of my favorite songs of all times.

Ron Eckerman mentioned that Leon played a cassette tape for him of a band he had never heard before. They were both equally impressed. That band turned out to be AC/DC.

I read a story about someone running into Pearl Jam in a bagel store. How come I can't bump into Mick Jagger at Walmart's? Oh, yeah. That's right. He probably doesn't shop there.

No love for Huey Lewis? How about SRV and Double Trouble? Fabulous Thunderbirds? Van Halen? Iron Maiden? Metallica? There was a lot of good music in the 80s and a lot or horrible music. Same goes with any decade IMO...
