This will be a really cool show for those who may be in Jax. Blue Jay is a great music club out at the beach.

Here’s another killer young trio that are friends of ours, King Buffalo out of Rochester, NY. They are great!

Wasn’t Wolfgang Van Halen’s band called Mammoth, though? Band name is King Buffalo, song is Mammoth.

This is the band we share studio space/equipment with, All Them Witches. They also rock!

New track they put out, it’s a long one but pretty cool. Definitely some Pink Floyd influences with this one.

Whoever recorded this had to be standing about 6 to 8 feet to my left on Buddy's side. I was kind of in between drummer and bass player to the right more. HeathInvader was in there somewhere as well.
Poor old Buddy was having guitar issues this night. I was watching him wondering what the hell is wrong with him tonight? He was spending a lot of time down on his knees fiddling with guitar electronics and what not, and come to find out the guy was being shocked by playing the guitar and touching the strings at times he was in a dangerous situation and played through it. I could see he was having issues but Buddy did not say anything to anyone. He soldiered on.
As you watch this try standing in Buddy's shoes holding that guitar knowing that depending on his sweat level, how he touches the guitar, and where he is standing changes the level of shock he was experiencing throughout this show. You can see Buddy drop down to mess with things, but he could not correct a power issue to that stage.
Normally the metal chasis of his guitar amplifiers is at a ground reference point same as where Buddy is standing. But when the phasing of the power is reversed or improper grounding due to problems with the electrical wiring to the stage, it made Buddy's metal chasis on his amplifier hot.
If Buddy was barefoot he could not have touched that guitar. The shock was going through his hands up his arms and down through his body to his feet collecting increasing sweat as show progresses meaning the electrical connection Buddy had to ground was increasing due to the sweat making electrical contact. Some how Buddy was able to play and minimize what was happening to him, but in all honesty Buddy should have stopped the show and made a correction. He soldiered on risking his life playing guitar on this night.

It’s a Hiwatt clone with a high power Alnico speaker, forget the brand.

Its a really good clean tone. And the effects are crisp and effective which brings me to my next question. The effects I hear on that guitar signal sound like studio quality effects. It does not sound like the lower quality of effects that come with various guitar amplifiers like their reverb tanks, etc. The effects I hear on this guitar signal are distinct and limited in scope. Dialed in nicely. So I'm voting for studio recording outboard processing effects rather than amp source effects? Am I on target?
If this is a studio effect, can you identify what sort of signal effects processing was used and who dialed it in? Guitarist or engineer? And was this something the guitarist came up with, or was it something the engineer recommended and did to the guitar signal?
I am just wondering how it all came about and the details of it. I bring this up out of curiosity more than anything else, and the phenomena of fans listening to their bands music and wondering how a guitarist gets a particular sound and invariably most of the time the guitarist is credited with that sound when in many cases its NOT the guitarist finishing out their sound.
I think that might be the case here. The effects I hear are just too dam clean and high quality to be from a guitar amp. And they are too precisely dialed in to be low quality guitar amp type of effects.
At least that is how I hear it. I could be wrong. Won't be the first time or last.

Any and all effects on this stuff is from pedals in the amp signal champ. No direct in rack effects or board effects.

Ah OK.
So it is outboard processing, but you are saying it is the foot pedal effects Buddy lays on ground and runs though the effects send and return loop?
Whether it is effects processing in studio racks or small foot pedals, quality effects are quality effects and this one sounds really good.
I thought it sounded Lexicon good, but I am surprised to hear it is only foot pedal good. That's impressive really.
I guess now would be a good time to ask about Buddy's choice of gear.
What are his choice pedal effects?
Give me a list of them please.
I'd like to look into them and maybe purchase some myself. And for a another good reason...
